The Sims 3 : Fix Error Code 12

This image i got from google. I have no time to printscreen my game and save it as image while i can't save my game. :(

I got same as this thing when i started to save my game and not a while something popped-out that i can't save my game because of error code 12. It told me to read the readme file to see what happens.
When i go to readme file, it shows me like this :
01: No save file information.
02: No active world.
03: The save path is empty.
04: Cannot save directory.
05: Cannot find the requested file.
09: Failed to create header record.
10: Failed to write header record.
11: Pre-save callback failure.
12: World file save failure.
13: Post-save callback failure.
14: No load/save manager found.
15: Other error.

Error code 12 as shown is something failure with the world file. Since i know nothing and i don't understand it, i search on google and find some ways to fix it. But unfortunately for me, every ways that was given by some forums didn't help me at all. But the condition maybe different for you so i decided to write it one by one here :

1. Go to Edit Town, click "just continue" if the message prompted. Change one thing in your town and then go to save it as usual. This method rarely can fix the problem, but for some of you it maybe helped.

2. Minimize your game (ALT+TAB) or quit on your game. Then go to C:\Documents\Electronics Arts\The Sims 3\Saved, move all of your save game to another folder (i suggest don't place them in C:\ drive). Leave the "saved" folder empty. After that you can restore or go back to your game and saved it. This step for me not helped at all, but some of you maybe have different possibilities, so i hope it resolved your problem.

3. Pause the game, then save your game as "save as" and change the name of the town. If the original "sunset valley" you must renamed it "sunset valley 2" or something. Some people around the world have resolved the problem with this, but i'm not. I not guaranteed it to 100% fix your problem.

4. Check your system requiptments. For me, i have played sims 3 with average system requipment with minimum VGA card. But i didn't have some serious problem with my computer system requipment, i can still play the game without any loading.

5. Erase all Mods. I didn't try this step cause my game don't have any mods in it.

6. Check your sims, if they get stuck or something (can't move), try to resetsim by clicking on the cheatbox "resetsim (firstname) (lastname)". I did this step because when i got the error code 12, i realize that one of my sims get stuck and can't move. So i try to did it and continue to save the game. But unfortunately, it didn't worked.

These all the ways and steps i found on google that can't give me any help to fix this problem. But.......Thanks to God that i clicked on the right forum and found this one, DEP (Data Execution Prevention) problems. (http://ask.brothersoft.com/how-to-stop-error-code-12-in-the-sims-3-77003.html)
This thing really solved my problems !!! And now i can save my game again. You must try this too if all of the steps/ways on list above didn't resolved your problem.

Turn off DEP

1. Enable an exception in DEP for the Sims 3 by right-clicking "Computer" and then left-clicking "Properties." Data Execution Prevention is a service that protects your PC from viruses and other attacks. Some programs and games will shut down or display errors when DEP is turned on.
2. Find "Performance" and examine the DEP settings under the Advanced tab. If it says, "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select," Click "Add."
3. Browse to the Sims 3 executable. This file is found at "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe." If you're a 64-bit user, look at "C:\Program Files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe."
4. Click "OK" to confirm the change. If DEP is set to "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only," leave it as is. This setting doesn't affect your game

I'll explain it with my way if you still didn't understand it :
1. Right click "My Computer", then click properties.
2. Go to advanced tab, click "settings" button on the performance, then after something popped-out go to data execution prevention.
3. Click add button, then find TS3.exe (for me it name TS3W.exe, cause i have Pets Expansion Pack), located in C:\Program Files\Electronics Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe, then click OK.
4. For me, i choose "Turn on DEP for all programs and service except those i select. And then i checklist the sims 3 box under it.

I hope this post can help you fix this problem. Since i can fix it with turn off the DEP, i feel happy that i can play my game again, i hope this post will help you too as i am.

The Sims 3 Bugs : How to fix Stuck, leaving work / school, invisible

In the middle of the night, after a few hours i resolved a stuck problem sims with the tent in Egypt. Now i faced to finished another bugs, that things actually make me mad, but reeally thanks to this forums to give me some backup to resolve this problem... This is some of the picture i've taken which simply describe the problem (not all of problem, but some problem i've had today).

Kids and teenagers forced to leaving their school, then get stuck. They cannot going anywhere (stuck) , even we command them to do an activity.

A working sims also forced to appeared in front of their office. Same with the kids and teenagers out of the school, they cannot going anywhere. Sometimes they get stuck with each other.

When that thing happened in my town, there were some foreign sims come to town and also get stuck.

Believe it or not, how to resolve this problem is very simple !

YOU JUST COPY THE TROUBLE TOWN,

example : if your town named "Sunset Valleythree", just copy it and the copy will be named "Sunset Valleythree2". Look at the picture, right beside "Sunset Valleythree2" (the copied town) there's my "Sunset Valleythree" (the original town with bugs).

UPDATE YOUR PATCH TO THE LASTEST VERSION

As my experience this night, try to working with removing the school buildings and work buildings -> it won't give you any help at all. There's some disadvantage from this :

1. Your teenagers who have a part time job will losing their job.High school newly started look like a part time job, so you must leave your teenagers "fired" from their early part time job.

2. Another bugs will coming -> invisible sims and stuck sims for active household.

3. Even it's not a trouble at all, this also take effect -> working sims will not losing their work grade, but your kids and teenagers will lose it. They will started their school again in C Grade.

UPDATED (20 November 2011) :
1. I have copied the town and after 1 day i played it again, the trouble were back and more worst, so i try to update the patch and seems updating the patch is the only one solution.
2. Check your video card, is it compatible with the game or not? The video card located in Device Manager Folder,named "Display Card"

I suggest to people -> don't started to fix this problem with "resetsim firstname lastname  ", cause it don't fix the bugs anyway.

The Sims 3 : Your Sims Stuck on Their Tent ? Here's the answer !

 My sims get stuck at one of tent on a base camp in Egypt.

I really worried since one of my sim get stuck on the tent. Then i try to get in my another sims to the tent, hope that they can talking or doing activities, so the former sims who stuck will get out from there. But unfortunately, my 2 sims on the tent get stuckand they can't do anything (activities), and when i cancelled activities from the former sims who stuck, it didn't want to dissappeared. And so the second sims who came in. It also happened with the "teleport me" cheats. So i worried how to get them out? Since they stuck, there's 3 days left to the end of travel, i think nothing can i do and i was decided to waiting until the travel days ended.

How i get they came out from the tent?

I think that's too long to wait for 3 days, so i decided to do something reckless by this step :

1. Press CTRL+SHIFT+C to prompt out the cheatbox.

2. Type "testingcheatsenabled true" (with no " , including the space area)

3.Hold on SHIFT button and press on your sims tent, where your sims get stuck.

4.There will be appeared "your sims 1 name" , "your sims 2 name, and "Object"

5.Click on the Object then "delete it"

After i did it, my two sims came out safely, and the damn tent was dissapear.

You will be simply follow this step that i found~ And i hope it's working on you too~

The Sims 3 is an interesting game to be played, but something that make me mad is the process of installing each of The Sims 3 Expansion Pack. From Suriyadi's post, i've got some explanation that YOU SHOULD BE READ when installing The Sims 3 :

1. If you want to check the expansion pack game was working or not, EXAMPLE: if you want to check your World Adventures Running or not. The first step is BACKUP THE ORIGINAL TSEP01.EXE BEFORE COPYING THE CRACK.

2.Copying the crack ONLY ALLOWED WHEN YOU FEEL YOU HAVE FINISH YOUR INSTALLATION.

3.Updating a patch is the process to continue installing to the new expansion pack. So if you want to play the sims 3 with the expansion pack you have installed and don't want to continue installing another next patch, DON'T UPDATE THE PATCH and SAVE THE ORIGINAL EXPANSION PACK (something).exe for the next expansion patch instalation.

4.The Function of crack in The Sims 3 is to END THE INSTALLATION PROCESS. It's different with crack on The Sims which can be replaced automatically.

5.Example : If you want to copy Expansion pack : Generation crack, you must copy in the area folder of The sims 3 Gneration too. ex: electronics arts\Thesims3 generation\game\Bin.

Install The Sims 3 on Mac Os, why not?

Yesterday with a "full of happiness", i brought my Sims 3 DVD (it contains 2 DVD) and try to install it on my sister's Mac. I'm new of using Mac Os and it is the first time i installed game program into Mac. This is my sister's Mac specification and it think it require the system requipment for the sims 3. It was 10.6.7 Mac Os.

First time i saw Mac, i didn't know how to install the sims 3, because i've found all files in the DVD didn't appeared all as well as windows. So i followed the steps and went up like this below...

I follow the steps until it finished. So i think maybe i can run it after i cracked it...

But, the main problem was here, as i said i'm new on Mac, and i can't find where is drive C: or drive D: in there. So i'm struggling for almost 1 hours by searching on the internet. Then i found that Mac, hidden all of drive C: in each of files (so, each files have their own drive C:). That sooooo awkward, because as the windows user, i simply found the "Electronics Arts" folder in drive C: and cracked the game. On Mac, the progress is entering folder by folder to search the C: drive of The Sims Application.

There was like this when i succeed to found drive c: of the application :

1. Find the sims 3 application and right click the application, then choose "show package contents"

2. Then i found "contents" folder, i click on it and found some folders (for the firsttime i didn't know what the functions of them).

3.In "contents" folder, i click resources->transgaming->c: drive !!!

4. Then continues click on c: drive, i've found folders like windows folders there, it was "program files" and "windows" folder. So i go as usual as i'm in windows Os, click on Program files->Electronics Arts->Game->Bin

5. So i've found where i should replace this TS3.exe as i usually installed on Windows.

Cracked until here? NO...

You still have to replace info.plist file which can be found in the first time you clicked on "contents" folder.

There was the differences on Mac Os and Windows...

For sure, i've searching for info.plist replacement file and found this one from youtube...

It worked and i upload it again cause i didn't find the original link of this file, you should download it -> INFO.PLIST

I have the problem AGAIN, when i try to run the game :

1. The first time is, NO CD/DVD ROM inserted. In windows, if we have cracked the game, the game will run. But this time, it wont run.

2. The second time, my Sims 3 application on Mac only just 2.5 GB, what happen? I found in google that the usual size file of The Sims 3 on Mac is 5.9 GB. I was curious when i installed the sims 3 only with 1 DVD, but in fact i have 2 DVD installer for The Sims 3, and i've installed The Sims 3 in my another PC with 2 DVD...something wrong here..

Why the problem was solved, i trying hard to found this and this is what i've got :

1. The first problem was solved when i replace different size of TS3.exe for more than 5 times, then i found TS3.exe with 10,7MB can run the game application. The problem was, the match file of the sims version. When i found that Sims 3 original have some version, i thought my version will be RAZOR1911, since the end of serial number is 1911. Then i find the match crack with my sims 3 version, you can download it here -> TS3.EXE

2. When i go to C: drive of my application files. I go to Game Data->Packages folder and found that no "Fullbuild1.package" and "fullbuild2.package" files on the folder. What i found just like this...

So i copied "Fullbuild1.package" and "fullbuild2.package" files on the DVD folder using transfer data on my PC with windows Os. (i open the DVD on my PC, cause in Mac, the DVD's files didn't appear). The problem was solved and i've got 5.9 GB sims 3 application.

The last step that was the important things is... Run the application from the file named "Cider", you can find this file when you right click on the sims 3 application, choose "show package contents" then go to Contents->Mac Os, the file will be there...

From installing the sims 3 on Mac, i've spent my time for 4 hours, searching for c: drive location, the right info.plist and crack TS3.exe game that i want. It was so frustrating that i did it until mid-night, wasting my sleep time. But the final result was damn good, the sims 3 was running on my mac and i simply studying and knowing what is Mac, like where the drive c: on Mac and how to find the main data or install the crack. Hopefully in the end, this post maybe helped for the readers, escpecially for the new Mac user. =]

Normally you are not able to but/build on community lots, but there is a way around that. Press Ctrl-Alt C and enter testingcheatsenabled true, right-click on the floor and you have the option to Buy/Build on this lot, along with teleportation. You can redecorate or demolish that lot. Using this cheat with The Sims 3 World Adventures Expansion Pack, you can see hidden traps and chambers and even enter them by deleting the walls or sealed doors without going through lengthy missions!

Hey guys...love playing TS3 WA but hate having to go to China, Eygpt, or France to get some of the stuff, like the plants...objects and animals? (AND THAT DAMN AXE) Well look no more. There is a BUYDEBUG cheat, which unlocks all of the stuff usually hidden until you travel, ,including the EYE OF HORUS...and PANGU'S AXE. Yes it's cheating but it helps. I have tried this in my game and it works.

How to get there

Baby Situation::

The deal with the apples and watermelons are that if you eat three apples, you get increased chances of a boy, eating three watermelons increase your chances of having a girl.

do you want twins or triplets? Watch the kids channel on the TV or listen to the children's music station on the stereo. Doing either of them increase the chance slightly, but doing both at the same time increases it greatly. I did this and i got twins.

to be able to pick your babies triats you have to keep the mommy happy during pregnancy. have her in a steady happy mood throuought the three day pregnancy.

Easy Money

Entry Location:


Start writing novels on your computer. Write fiction novels as they take the least amount of time. They will not bring you too much Simoleons. When you write, your skill will automatically advance. If your skill is high enough, you will be able to write more novel types/genres. The most money can be made from "Romance Novels". You will get royalties for six weeks once you finish a book. With the "Writing" skill maxed out, you can make approximately 40,000 Simoleons every week, which is more than the 34,800 Simoleons you can get by purchasing all neighborhood businesses, and takes less time to achieve. In three game weeks you should have a very high speed writing, 9 or 10 novels as best sellers, and 100,000 Simoleons.

Making Friends

Buy a guitar. Play it to learn how to play guitar. Keep playing until you reach 5/10 level, which gives you the ability to "Play For Tips". When you have that ability, go to the park with the guitar in your inventory. When you are in the park, click the guitar in your inventory, and select "Play For Tips." People watching you will become your friends if you keep playing. The higher your guitar skill, the faster they will become friends with you.

Gender of Babies

Eating apples will increase your chances of having boys!
(i.e. 3 apples = 3 boys)

On the other hand, eating watermelons will increase your chances of having girls!
(i.e. 3 watermelons = 3 girls)

**To have increased chances of twins or triplets have one or both parents have the lifetime reward of fertility treatment.

I heard this from someone else. I had my pregnant female eat three watermelons to test it out and it worked! She had 3 triplet girls.

Clean Dishes

Too lazy to take the time to clean up dishes? Just drag the empty plate in to the Sims inventory and then drag to sell. You won't make any money but if your Sim doesn't have a dish washer, its fast and efficient.

Turn off Aging

Entry Location:


In the options menu you can choose the gameplay settings. When you uncheck the box before "Aging" the sims won't become older anymore. You can also slow aging down in this menu by setting the lifetime bar. It's changeable from 25 days too 960 days.

New clothes

To get new clothes, you first have to buy a dresser from "Buy Options". Once there, click "Plan Outfit." You can put a total of three different clothes for each type (formal, every day, athletic, etc.).

Protection From Death

Entry Location:


Go to Pleasant Rest Graveyard, and near the gate, there is a strange bush called a "Death Flower Bush" - Harvest the flower from it.

If you keep this flower in your sim's inventory, when you die the grim reaper will trade it for a second chance at life.

This flower will not reappear, but there are Unknown Special Seeds (requires level 7 Gardening to plant) dotted about near the graveyard (and a few other places) which may grow another Death Flower (and sometimes more if your Sim has the Green Thumb trait to revive the plant.)

Have a Ghost Baby (Without Killing)

How to do it:

- Set one of your Sim's traits to Kleptomaniac (Sim must be female)
- Go to graveyard
- Wait until Sim steals remains or tell sim to swipe something (remains must be male)
- On the second day since stealing grave and putting it in home, the ghost will appear at 11:00pm and disappear at 4:00am it will appear every other day
- Socialize with ghost every night it appears until you are at best friend ghost will then begin appearing every night
- get fertility reward
- Confess attraction to ghost
- ask to snuggle on bed, kiss
- Try for baby every night until you start throwing up
- Congrats! You're now having a ghost's baby! (It will be born as a ghost that you can control)

Change Name

If you're unhappy with the name of your sim you can change the name of your sim by going to map veiw and clicking on City Hall and clicking the option 'Change Name'. You can only change your name from 12:00pm and 6:00pm.
